It is for this reason that I have named my counselling service, ""At Your Own Pace"" Counselling and Therapeutic Service as my work is often focused on empowering people and therapeutically helping them to find the strengths and resilience within themselves to better manage the difficulties that they experience in their current, every day lives, which may be, as a consequence of their childhood experiences. Ms Gehan George

Psychologist
My name is Gehan George. I am a Generalist Psychologist since 2000. Prior to my formal registration, I have been a practising counsellor for 8 years. I am of arabic background and have worked with the Arabic population since graduating from University in 1993. I hold 3 degrees, 2 being postgraduate. I have been working with the issue of trauma since 1995 with torture and trauma survivors of war. In 2005 I opened my private practice and see clients on a regular basis from such backgrounds.

Since graduating, I have been consulting on a frequent basis with my supervisor. I have been with the one supervisor for 20 years and going strong. I believe having this support adds to the accumulated theoretical knowledge that is gained from education, but more of a lived experience than reading it in text books. I continue to work with torture and trauma survivors of war as well as being sexually abused both in my private practice and as a consultant to medical centres.
