Mr Ewan Cameron
Psychologist
I am a registered Psychologist providing a range of trauma-specific and trauma-related treatments.
My recent clinical experience has included working for six years in a hospital setting. For many people that I met, the cause of their distress lay in past experiences of trauma and abuse and difficulties they had experienced since. I completed more specific training for working intensively with people on addressing and managing post-traumatic stress disorders and 'Complex Trauma' experiences. This has included developing the capacity to provide EMDR, Schema Focused Therapy, and tailored CBT treatments.
There are many reasons why seeing a psychologist can be anxiety provoking and I attempt at all times to appreciate this. I hope always to provide a safe, respectful environment and to make sure that any work we do proceeds at a pace determined by the other person. At times, discussing or thinking about trauma can be distressing and sessions are structured to allow for grounding, calming and other skills to be practised. This gives people a chance to manage potential distress that might arise in therapy and develop the skills in a safe, contained way.
Sometimes, as a result of trauma, people can end up on a trajectory to making choices they regret, or coping in a way that is unhelpful. In order to address some of these potential outcomes, I take a non-judgemental and accepting approach. I work within a safe, welcoming clinic staffed by friendly and professional clinicians.
Sessions are approximately an hour in duration and we will develop a treatment plan based on your goals for therapy. Treatment options will be provided and we will aim to measure change in a meaningful way. There is no one goal or outcome that fits everyone, and the pace of change can vary.
If you have any questions about treatment which would like answered before considering what you would like to do, please feel free to contact me via the clinic. Inquiries can be made by email: [email protected] or by phone: 03 9434 4161.

Fiona Stevens
Social Worker
Fiona has been working in the helping industry for over 20 years. She has graduated with Bachelor of Social Science, Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Masters in Social Work. Initially most of Fiona's career was working with vulnerable families and young people, alcohol and other drugs and homelessness. Over the years, and experiencing other approaches such as yoga teaching and yoga therapy, Fiona discovered Trauma Sensitive Yoga and this made a significant impact in her work and how she was able to understand the long standing impacts of trauma on a person. Fiona went on to develop small groups in a mindful movement approach, using movement and noticing as an approach to teaching ourselves how to ""notice"" uncomfortable sensations in the body and then how we can gently adapt and self regulate to manage these automatic responses as a result of trauma. Fiona has worked with groups who are part of the Forgotten Children. This experience taught Fiona a great deal in learning about peoples personal challenges and how the experience of trauma has made long lasting impacts. Together we worked at peoples own pace, offering choice, developing trust and safety, to support peoples individual changes in self regulating and starting to choose options that were providing positive outcomes. Fiona offers many approaches from listening, CBT, mindfulness and movement to support the person in how they would like to progress in receiving the support they need.

Ms Gena Fawns
Social Worker
Hello, my name is Gena Fawns. I am a somatic psychotherapist and mental health social worker, practicing in Fairfield, Melbourne, since 1989. I work with adults experiencing difficulties with any aspect of life, particularly anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, childhood trauma and abuse, relationship problems, communication, self-esteem, or addiction.
I provide a supportive, understanding and safe place where you can explore your concerns and find a way forward. I draw on many techniques, theories and my own experience, to listen and respond to each individual. My therapeutic focus includes a person's feelings, emotions and thoughts. I provide empathic understanding to help clients build cohesion and resilience, and combine an awareness of somatics and the bodily level of experience with a humanistic approach to the integration of all parts of the Self.
I see many clients who struggle with the after-effects of trauma, supporting them to resolve their feelings, make sense of their experience, and deal with their symptoms more effectively. I am trained and experienced in helping those who’ve suffered complex trauma in childhood, including sexual, emotional or physical abuse. I offer safety, understanding and creative ways forward to regulate difficult emotions and heal the sense of self.
I offer confidential counselling and psychotherapy treatment for individuals and couples. I am flexible and collaborative in setting goals with each new client, according to their needs and priorities. I can help you develop ways to relate better with others, make decisions about your life direction, and regulate your emotions in stressful situations. I assist people with specific mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder, to learn to manage these better. I also offer solution-focused and cognitive-behaviour therapy when appropriate.
My practice involves both verbal and experiential therapy, depending on the needs of the client. I use various techniques to help clients explore, process and make sense of their feelings and thoughts. I am experienced in the use of somatic processing, emotion-focused therapy and therapeutic touch in psychotherapy, and may incorporate these methods if appropriate, in consultation with the client.
I respect the worth of all individuals, regardless of gender identity, cultural background or sexual orientation.
