I’ve been working with children and teenagers for many years as a teacher, both in Australia and overseas. I’m now a counsellor/psychotherapist with experience in working with carers, in an alcohol and drug service and more recently with clients referred through job services, which has included many cases involving trauma. I am a trauma informed practitioner and utilise a range of modalities to tailor counselling sessions for the client. My clients report that they feel heard, understood and supported through whatever challenges they face, and when feeling overwhelmed, will never be pushed further than their limits. Complex trauma requires a long term approach to build rapport. Office space is available in 2 locations: Market St in Wollongong and in Thirroul. I work with victims of trauma as I appreciate their vulnerability and unlocked strength. Regular professional development in trauma informed practice is undertaken to keep up to date. Clients are often asked if my service is suitable, and if it doesn't "feel right" will be referred to another practitioner in the local area.
