Professional Biography
As a Clinical PACFA Member originally from India and now based in Australia, my personal journey deeply enriches my professional practice. I've been successfully running my private practice for over four years, a testament to my commitment and expertise in the field. Growing up in a close-knit joint family provided me with a profound understanding of how cultural influences shape relationships, mental health, and emotional well-being.
My life experiences, including navigating the transitions of love, marriage, and parenthood, the profound grief of losing close relatives and family members passing away, and my own experience as an immigrant, have cultivated a deep, empathetic perspective on the struggles my clients face. Additionally, having personally navigated the complexities of childhood trauma, I bring a firsthand understanding to a client's trauma story, fostering a truly authentic connection and a deeper level of empathy. Now raising a young family, I also grasp the emotional complexities of balancing personal and family needs, cultural expectations, and significant life transitions.
I provide trauma-informed therapeutic support from a thoughtfully designed home office, where client safety and comfort are paramount. The practice features a separate entry and exit, ensuring a private, quiet, and confidential environment that empowers clients with a sense of control and security. I am committed to a collaborative approach, working hand-in-hand with clients to co-create their unique healing path.
A crucial aspect of my practice involves a meticulous process, particularly in initial sessions or through provided references, to understand individual sensitivities and proactively identify anything that could be re-triggering. This proactive care, combined with my experience supporting individuals through Griefline and as a community counsellor with ADRA Blacktown assisting homeless and victim clients, underpins my holistic and empathetic approach to therapy.
