Professional Biography

Mary Krishnan-McKenzie is the Director and Principal Psychologist of Reflections Psychology Services. She is a compassionate, inspirational Psychologist who divides her time between clinical practice, training, supervision and program development. In her clinical practice, she delivers cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR trained and certified level 1, 2, Structural Dissociation, Ego States, and Master Class Level) and other evidence-based treatments to adult clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex Trauma (CPTSD), Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Substance Abuse, and Relationship problems. In her supervision work, she has provided intensive supervision to several provisional Psychologists and Registered Psychologists, as they acquire skills to deliver evidence based therapy in their own practice. She continues to author treatment manuals on the topics of CBT, suicide prevention, mental health, and addictions. In addition, she has recently authored the CHOICES: Recovery from Substance Abuse Program which was accredited by Queensland Corrective Services in 2014.

Mary finds it gratifying to introduce clients and therapists, alike, to evidence based therapies. She has had the privilege of witnessing dramatic transformations using Psychological therapies in clients with depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, suicidal ideation, general and sexual offending and substance misuse. She is eager to apply her experience and compassion with clients as they begin to address issues that will help them to improve their quality of life and attain a sense of fulfillment and personal growth.

Mary has held several leadership positions, worked in the field for 22 years (since 1996) and completed training packages. She was involved in the implementation of several programs within Corrective Services, Queensland Health and in the private sector. She has also won or been nominated for several awards including the Australian of the year for her involvement in a variety of projects.
