Professional Biography
Lisa is a non-judgemental, warm, and client-centred trauma counsellor. Lisa works with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced sexual abuse providing a safe therapeutic space for survivors. Having worked with trauma survivors for many years, Lisa has a special interest in issues such as complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, dissociative disorders, and developmental trauma.
Lisa has supported adults to have their voice heard at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and advocated for individuals in the sexual abuse sector, in both Government and Non-Government organisations. Lisa is passionate about helping people to live their best lives after trauma and believes that the therapeutic relationship is key to recovery and management of traumatic experiences. Lisa also believes in a holistic approach to counselling, helping to bring awareness to the strengths and resilience within each of us.
Lisa is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Psychotherapist who has met with clients from diverse stages of recovery, cultures, ages, and needs. Lisa also provides support and supervision to sexual assault counsellors and mental health clinicians.
