Professional Biography
I am grateful to work with individuals who’ve experienced sexual abuse and to support them to recover from the effects of abuse. I believe the safety and trust that is built through the therapeutic relationship is vital. As is the ability to truly listen and allow people the choice about what to share, when to share and to set the pace of therapy. I am a registered psychologist, since 1998 and I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). I have a BA (Honours) in psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling. I have training in various therapeutic approaches and have specialist training in trauma, including sexual assault and family and domestic violence. I have always worked in trauma/ interpersonal violence including a specialist sexual assault service- NSW Health . Previous employment has also been in addiction- NGO service & mental health - NSW Health. I now work in private practice, seeing people mainly under Victims of Crime-NSW & Mental Health Care Plan.
