Professional Biography

My journey of adversity, grief, loss & marginalisation led me to uncover the creative intelligence of our brain & nervous system. 'Repeatedly talking 'about' my challenges didn't serve me. Hence, I specialised in body-based expressive modalities. In the past decade, I have specialised in body-led methods that ground us in the tumultuous inner world and regulate us in the outer environment. I am competent in exploring creative expression, building strength & somatic resourcing and bottom-up sensory awareness for unprocessed adverse experiences. I affirm all abilities, gender preferences, cultural identities and neurodivergence.

My therapeutic style is open, warm & collaborative. As someone straddling multiple identities, including a parent, racial minority, migrant and female. I can be your ally.
Through in-search and practice, I have discovered the critical role of somatic anchors, creativity, spontaneity and imagination for mental health & emotional well-being. Most people assume trauma processing occurs when you see a talk therapy like CBT. However, it is now proven by neuroscience research that trauma impacts the regions of the brain associated with speech, memory and sequencing, which is an input in talk therapy.

My focus in the past five years has been on supporting clients who have experienced relational, interpersonal, developmental and complex trauma. In my work with my clients, I have focussed on body-based practices and building resources that support self and co-regulation. I am adept at helping clients to befriend their bodies (nervous system) and expand their capacity to manage dysregulation and overwhelm. These stages focus on re-establishing embodied safety, protection, boundaries, and connection that precedes trauma/ memory processing. Modalities that I specialise in, like creative arts, sounds, movement and enactment, allow the clients to experiment, express and own their narrative. These methods support re-orientation to an inner landscape of space, choice and empowerment.

I believe transformative healing occurs while engaging our curiosity, imagination & play.
