Professional Biography
Georgia Hunt is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over thirty years of practice experience in supporting and counselling families affected by complex trauma, domestic and family violence, mental health, alcohol and/or other drug problems. She works with individuals, couples, families and groups. Georgia acknowledges that people are the experts in their own lives and are often resilient in the face of challenges. She has an interest in growing family resilience by providing therapy, psycho-education and support in a non-judgemental, safe space. Georgia completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, University of Queensland. Her research is in the area of consumer and family participation in mental health services. She is also an Adjunct Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the School of Human Services and Social Work, Griffith University. She is committed to maintaining her professional development in the best interests of people who seek her support and therapy.
