Professional Biography

Dr Liz Jervis is a Clinical Psychologist who works with adults experiencing the impacts of complex trauma, including childhood abuse and neglect, child sexual abuse, family violence, attachment trauma, exploitation, and human trafficking.

Liz provides a safe, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels manageable. She understands that the effects of trauma can extend beyond traumatic memories to affect relationships, self-worth, identity, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety in the world.

Liz integrates EMDR with trauma-informed, attachment-informed, and parts-informed approaches, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs and goals. Her work is grounded in respect, curiosity, and an understanding of the ways people adapt to survive difficult experiences.

Prior to returning to Australia, Liz lived and worked in Cambodia, where she founded and led a multidisciplinary psychology service and worked with individuals affected by significant interpersonal trauma, including survivors of sexual violence, exploitation, and trafficking. This experience strengthened her commitment to culturally responsive and trauma-informed care.

Liz offers both in-person appointments on the Mornington Peninsula and telehealth appointments across Australia.
