Professional Biography
Graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work UNSW in 1990, Masters of Arts in Child Protection Studies University of Northumbria Newcastle England in 1998, Master of Counselling Social Work UNSW in 2011. Work history Nowra Sexual Assault Unit, Wanslea Family Support-emergency foster care service, NSPCC in England Child Protection team, Family Support Co-ordination England, Domestic Violence support Worker with Baptist Community Care, Counsellor at the Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre and a private Accredited Mental Health Social Worker since 2007. I have trained in EMDR and somatic work for trauma clients. I am a provider with Victim Services NSW and the majority of my clients have a trauma history. During the recent Royal Commission I have seen several clients who have presented evidence to the commission. I am a Medicare provider and am also a provider with Primary Care on The Central Coast.
As per the AASW requirements for membership I am up to date with on going Continuing Professional Development and have clinical and peer supervision.
I use a variety of modalities in working with clients, however find somatic work and EMDR, where appropriate, to be the best fit in working with trauma.
