Professional Biography

I am a registered psychologist with experience providing a range of trauma-related and trauma-specific treatments in clinical and forensic contexts. I also have experience providing trauma informed support to individuals working within Victoria Police and the Australian Defence Force.

I have several years of experience working with individuals experiencing significant impacts of trauma in both forensic and clinical settings. The impact can be persistent and pervade all aspects of life. I have completed specialised training (including Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) and am committed to participation in regular professional development to maintain my competencies in the delivery of trauma-informed approaches.

I understand that the decision to engage with a psychologist to support the healing process can be difficult and may bring about internal conflict. I am mindful that individuals will commence their journey at various stages of readiness to talk about their experiences. For this reason, I aim to create a safe, respectful environment where individuals feel supported to proceed at a pace comfortable for them. During the initial session, we will work together to identify goals for therapy and develop a tailored plan to address these. To manage distressing thoughts or feelings that may arise during or between sessions, we will collaborate to develop a suite of strategies that may include calming, grounding and mindfulness techniques.

Sessions are approximately one-hour duration. I work in a warm, friendly clinic with a team of experienced psychologists and counsellors.
If you have any questions you would like answered before making an initial appointment, please feel free to contact me via the clinic by email: [email protected] or by phone: 03 9434 4161.
