Professional Biography

I am a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nursing (ACMHN). As a registered nurse (General and Mental Health) I have worked in several different specialist areas including mental health, Consultation Liaison psychiatry, Emergency Department assessments and with General Practitioners and Psychiatrists under the Mental Health Nurse Incentive Program which is no longer running. I have experience working with the LGBTIQ+ population. I also have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, people with disabilities. For the last four years I have predominantly been working with people with complex trauma mostly as a result of childhood abuse and /or neglect.
I use trauma informed therapy in my practice including Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, animal therapy and have access to a Neurofeedback Practitioner.
Our clinic is on a two acre block where we have two ponies, chickens, guinea fowl, a dog and various other animals.
Our focus has been on providing innovative care for people with trauma in a caring and peaceful community setting.
