Professional Biography
Belinda has degrees in both Social Work and Health Science (Rehabilitation Counselling) and she is committed to providing therapy that is compassionate, effective, and tailored to each individual, family and group. She has experience in a variety of areas including sexual assault and trauma, sexual health, child protection, mental health, occupational rehabilitation, and generalist counselling. She has also taught and lectured in both corporate and educational settings.
Belinda loves working with young people, adults and couples to resolve issues with anxiety, depression, bullying, relationship concerns, sexual health, family dynamics, trauma, and recovery following catastrophic events. She enjoys supervising therapists and working with organisations to develop healthy workplace cultures and high functioning teams.
Belinda has a particular interest in Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP); a behavioural-based therapy that focuses on using the therapeutic relationship to increase social connection and improve health and wellbeing. She is passionate about providing trauma recovery counselling that builds on strengths and triumphs and is gentle and playful in addressing the hurt parts of ourselves that we all carry around.
