Professional Biography

I have worked with adults with histories of childhood trauma for well over a decade. My interest in this area was fed by the brave sharing of my clients who revealed to me, through their words & how they were spoken, through their silences and through their bodies, what childhood trauma can do to a person long after the event/s are over. My interest grew rapidly, leading me into ongoing formal professional development in the trauma and dissociation field.

Psychotherapy with me follows a trauma framework, meaning the work begins slowly, building a sense of trust and safety both within the room and for you between sessions (usually weekly). Then I am guided by your readiness to address the tough stuff, encouraging just a little at a time, minimising the possibility of dysregulation.

I have a further interest in how a person's faith/spirituality is impacted by trauma and furthermore, how it can be woven into daily life as a valuable source of support and strength. And in addition to formal professional development, I continue to be generously educated by the people I work with as well as through regular ongoing professional supervision with trauma experts.

I feel privileged to work alongside brave survivors as we walk a path together that leads to healing and growth.

I am an approved NSW Victims of Crime Counsellor. If you have been a victim of a crime in NSW you can apply for free counselling at https://www.victimsservices.justice.nsw.gov.au/.
